Problems with receiving monophonic ringtones or b/w
logos and pictures? 1. BoomTribe currently provides our
products for most Nokia phones in TDMA and GSM networks.
We also provide for selected Samsung and Motorola phones
in GSM networks. 2. To receive Ringtones & Graphics,
your service provider must support sending Ringtones &
Graphics via Text Messaging, and you must subscribe to
this service. If you are not sure whether your service
provider offers this service, contact them and ask if
they support relaying binary messages via SMS.
Unfortunately only users whose service provider supports
this technology are capable of receiving Ringtones &
Graphics from BoomTribe.
3. If you are using a supported
phone, are positive that your service provider supports
this technology, and still have not received your
ordered item, please be patient. Sending of Ringtones &
Graphics to a mobile phone involves many network systems
(both public and private) out of BoomTribe’s control.
Sometimes due to the overload of these systems, it may
take hours for you to receive the ordered item.
4. With
some phones, you can only download one ringtone at a
time. If you do not Save or Discard the ringtone on your
handset, before trying to download another, you will not
receive the second ringtone, however you will still be
charged for that purchase.
5.You are able to sample the
ringtone on the website with the proper audio software
(usually included in your operating system) before you
purchase it, you will only be charged for your ringtone
purchase, when you download the ringtone, EVEN IF YOU
CHOOSE TO DISCARD IT.

service provider offers this service, contact them and
ask.

website at http://www.nokiahowto.com. Find your phone
model from the menu and read the instructions. The same
instructions should be found from your phone manual. To
find your saved ringtone, go to MENU, then to PROFILES,
select any of the profiles and choose CUSTOMIZE. Scroll
down to "Ringing Tone" and press select. Find and choose
your purchased ringtone. In general (may vary between
the phone models) when you get the notification about
the received ringtone, press "options". Then you have to
choose the action: PLAYBACK, SAVE TONE, or DISCARD.
Naturally you want to save the tone you purchased. NOTE!
DISCARDED RINGTONES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED!
Why doesn't the ringtone I received sound like on the web
page? All devices re-produce the ringtone sound little
bit differently. Our samples are mimicking Nokia sounds
for most of our ringtones.

How do I know if I have and GSM phone? A. If you are
in the Caribbean and bought your phone recently, it is
most likely a GSM phone.
B. Three ways to find out if
your phone is actually GSM phone:
- Look underneath the
battery. If it has a removable little card (SIM card)
with a chip in it you have a GSM phone.
- You can call
your carrier store and ask.
- Go to the website of your
cellular phone carrier.
GPSR connection not available? In this case you need
to contact your operator since they are providing your
connectivity. As indicated in some of our product pages,
an internet connection is needed in order to retrieve
the item.
Double charges on your credit card?
All credit card
transactions are authorized before the actual charge.
This is done to minimize the chances of fraudulent
transactions. Often your online bank statement reflects
the authorization and the actual charge. If you don't
know which one is which, please contact your bank and
ask them how to separate the two. Authorization entry
will disappear from the online statement in a few days.
Please, note that every erroneus charge attempt and
subsequent authorization will show up on your online
statement also. If you still think there is an erroneous
charge on your account, please contact us and furnish
the contact form message field with the first 4 and the
last 4 digits of the credit card used in order to speed
up the investigation process. I don’t have a credit card or Paypal, how do I order
ringtones and logos? You can order your items buy
purchasing a BoomTribe prepaid code. These codes are
available for purchase at many cell phone stores in the
region and at a number of electronic card providers.
Simply text the code to the number we have provided for
your cellular carrier and credits will be added to your
account, which will allow you to make purchases.
What is a WAP Push message and how do I get to my
content if I haven't received it?
WAP Push messages are specially formatted SMS
messages that display an alert message to the phone, and
give the user the option of connecting directly to a
particular URL via the mobile phone’s WAP browser rather
than having to type in the URL to get to the content.
BoomTribe sends a WAP push message in response to a
request from a user e.g. txt message request. There are
variations on the name of a WAP push depending on the
make of phone that you are using. Here are the most
common ones:
- Nokia - "Service Message"
- Sharp - "WAP Alert"
- Samsung
- "Push Message"
- Motorola - "Browser Message"
- Sony
Ericsson - "[name of site/page]WAP"
- Sagem - "WAP Push"
- Panasonic - "WAP Message"
If you do not get the WAP Push, either your mobile
phone does not support WAP Push or there is a delay from
the operator. You can either wait to see if the WAP push
arrives or contact us to request the URL via regular
text message or email to your phone.
